Water - Why it is essential

Updated: Dec 16, 2021

Water is an invaluable life-sustaining force so important to our bodies that we could live off water alone for 30+ days. However, we would most likely expire after 4 days tops without it.

If your goals are fat loss and overall better health, here are a few fun facts about water consumption and its relationship to the goals just stated.

For starters, if you are dehydrated, your efforts at the gym will be compromised, thus affecting your results/fat loss.

When dieting, drinking a lot of water can help control hunger which will help you stay on track.

Keeping your muscles hydrated helps with recovery which in turn gets you back to the gym quicker and stronger.

Water improves liver function, and a healthy liver is key in fat loss as our liver is responsible for not only detoxifying the body, but also converting fats, protein, and carbs into energy, all while balancing hormone levels such as insulin, estrogen, and testosterone.

It is helpful to find ways to keep you on track of your H2O consumption, such as keeping it always in sight and accessible. Start your day with a full glass of water and carry with you throughout the day a bottle and make sure to finish by end of the day. Try and go for a 1/2 gallon bottle or a full gallon.

Just remember, drinking enough water and making sure your cells are always well hydrated is a crucial component to achieving fat loss and overall better body and brain function. Now go drink up!
